cold fire

Is such a chemical reaction possible that:
a) can occur only at low temperatures and not at high temperatures
b) is endothermic (meaning it absorbs heat from the surroundings)
If so, it could be used to create cold fires. For example, in Africa, people could dig up a special mineral, touch it with a piece of ice, and then it would start fizzing and cooling everything around it. People could cool off next to it and even make ice cream and cold drinks on this cold fire.
