months opposite to years
In our era, years go in the same direction as months. It's year 2010 month 1, year 2010 month 2, ..., year 2010 month 12, year 2011 month 1, year 2011 month 2, and so on. But before our era, years went in one direction, and months in the other. It was year 2010 BCE month 1, year 2010 BCE month 2, ..., year 2010 BCE month 12, year 2009 BCE month 1, year 2009 BCE month 2, and so on.
