mixed book

Someone should write a book where a single story is told using several different conventions simultaneously. For example, chapters (0, 3, 6, 9, ...) could be a romance a la Harlequin, chapters (1, 4, 7, 10, ...) a classic 19th-century novel, and chapters (2, 5, 8, 11, ...) science fiction. But these chapters wouldn't just repeat the same thing; instead, the plots or information from them would complement each other, together creating a complete narrative.
