why do you claim that I'm putting words in your mouth that you didn't say?
Here's a joke: you can tell someone: "why do you claim that I'm putting words in your mouth that you didn't say?" Then what can they do? Nothing, because if they say: "but I'm not claiming anything like that!", they contradict themselves and admit that we were right!
